The main reason for the acute shortage of tomatoes in Britain has come to light




London : 

        Britain is currently facing a huge turmoil and shortage of tomatoes, which is the  mainly cause due to disruption in harvesting for this time and due to this the supply in the market has been affected suddenly .


In some regions of southern Europe and northern Africa, hot weather affected the crop production significantly, followed by the cold-weather

growth that affected harvests.


In the regard of British Retail Consortium official Andrew Opie stat in his statement yesterday that weather conditions have disrupted

and the harvesting of some fruits , vegetables and also including the tomatoes.


Supermarkets are unable to managing the supply chain issues and working with the farmers to ensure the consumers have access to fresh production

of tomatoes.


During the winter the UK usually imports around 90% of crops such as cucumbers and tomatoes, but becomes almost self-sufficient in the summer .
